“Little Dreamer's”, you will never walk alone

American artist Jenai Davis was about 5 or 6 years old, when she met for the first time a pony.

And as her granddaughter says today, it was a very long time ago, in the old days! At the time Jenai didn't have a pony of her own, but the two best of her did.

And, together, they used to pack a lunch or snacks, gather up the ponies and just go off exploring. They were going off on their little big adventures every chance they could, which was at least 3 or 4 days a week, especially after school and during weekend days.

One of their favorite spots was down in an old apple orchard, across a neighboring field, down the hill and into the sunny, yet shady apple tree grove. They used to spend hours chit chatting away, playing the old game "Apple Core Baltimore", while their ponies were listening and grazing away peacefully on the cool long green grass.

The artist remembered that orchard was especially wondrous in the late spring when it was all in bloom. "It was simply heaven, being with my friends and our pony friends. Our sanctuary. My sanctuary. I loved laying down on my ponies back and reaching down with my hands and rubbing his sides. Whilst looking up through those trees, and all those colorful blooms, and daydreaming and thinking about big things."

The pony was so peaceful, so patient, kind and loving, and he gave this peace to her soul too. "A huge blessing for me at that time in my life and especially my fondest moments and memories."  And so it goes, the circle.

Jenai still has ponies to this day, and they are now her biggest loves. And though they are elders now and retired, her grandchildren play and love on them out in the pasture in their barefee, in all their sweet little goodness.

And the ponies love it. "It is good to remember and to feel like a child again".
