“Souvenirs d'Enfance"

When the Canadian artist Jacinthe Milette painted this watercolor piece, she wanted to bring out her dream into reality.

Dreaming about horses sounds like it was the biggest part of her childhood: "I think pursuing a dream is the best thing in life and when it is about horses, everything looks so sweet and a funny adventure”.

She spent her young life playing with toy horses doing dressage patterns, reading books about horses and every birthday wishing a horse. These are her most intimate memories.

Then one day, when she was five years old, she and her family went together to a gymkhana competition near her city and she got the chance to be on the back of a beautiful real horse, with the help of her older sister.

"It was a dream come true. I felt like it was the best day of my life, being walked around on the back of this gentle quarter-horse. I knew that I wanted to be around horses for the rest of my life".

She has kept dreaming to make this moment happen as often as possible throughout her life.

Something about Jacinthe Milette and her equine art

Jacinthe Milette is an autodidact artist. She decided to start painting with watercolors three years ago and she fell immediately in love with this medium.

She loves the fluidity of watercolor and the lack of control over the water that sometimes becomes magical. Recently she has now also started to create pieces with acrylic in a realistic style. Her favorite subjects are horses, animals and forest scenery: they give her energy and peace.

In 2021 she became a Member of Association des artistes peintre de la Mauricie and in 2022 a Member of Paard Verzameld Collective.

Since January 2022 she is exhibiting at Galerie d’art de Grand-Mère (Shawinigan).
