Constance Sanocki is an American artist who has worked with horses most of her life, and she loves their personalities, power, beauty, quirks and friendship.
From the artist's point of view, people have benefited from horses through time in work, transportation, war, cinema, as well as reaping joy and camaraderie. Constance strives to engage the viewer through light and color to show the meaning and importance of horses.
She has many artist’s influences including Alfred Munnings, John Singer Sargent, and Lucy Kemp-Welch: she admires their equine portraiture, color harmony and loose style.
In the piece "Pony Club" her intent was to describe a moment of the collaboration between the little rider and her pony. A moment when they are happy alone in the nature without any fear.
The background is a reminiscent of Kentucky in the US, a place close to the artist’s heart. A place which holds many beautiful memories of horses and beautiful landscapes.
The model is based on a pony club member of which Constance became acquainted. The pink colors of the tack and uniform reflect childhood passions. "I hope to portray the special bond between the child and her pony which is a unique period of time."
A painting that gives a sense of freedom and at the same time a great happiness. Who hasn't dreamed of galloping through the Kentucky prairies? I did for sure!

Constance Sanocki is an American artist living in Michigan, USA.
She worked as an equine anesthetist for many years. Today Constance uses the knowledge she gained from this work in her paintings.
Her art reflects the horse in both a natural environment and in many types of relationships with people. Besides, it also reflects her learning from other artists through classes and workshops.
She has been busy over the past few years with commissions and developing her technique. She is a patron of the American Academy of Equine Art, and is a member of the Paard Verzameld Collective and Huron River Art Collective.

Through international collaboration between Paard Verzameld and the Horse Museum Foundation, the painting will be exhibited during the Pratoni del Vivaro World Championships in September 2022.
